THE CHURCH IS IMPERFECT ?
There are some, if not all protestant who become protestant ( protesting Catholic Church ) because they saw not a catholic is perfect.
Considering all of those who go against Catholic Church, were consider protestant. ( protesting the entire catholic church )
Then they start exposing several POPE'S immorality and misconduct. Ravaging Catholic doctrines.
To understand fully, on what they are thinking let's go back first to the creation of man and answered the sayings " NO MAN IS PERFECT , OR NOBODY IS PERFECT "...
Gen. 1:26 New International Version (NIV)
26 Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals,[a] and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”
If God created us, ( man ) to his image and likeness, does God made a mistake in creating us to the point that he created something imperfect ?
That's the big question in saying that no man is perfect, cause if so, then God had created something imperfect.
Does God made a mistake, in having that forbidden fruit in EDEN ? Did he not know that Adam and Eve will be tempted to eat that fruit ?
Is that fruit for them to eat or not? cause if not?, why have that fruit in Eden ? He ( God ) could have taken that fruit anytime
he want so that man will ( commit ) not sin.
Isa. 55:8 "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the LORD.
So all of this is God's ways, his plan.If so then man created perfect according to his plan.
DISTINGUISHING TWO DIFFERENT PERFECTION :
a) Man is a perfect finite. ( he sins, made perfect things sometime, committed mistake most of the time, and died for his sin )
b) God is a perfect infinite. ( no beginning and has no end )
Then why did God created man this way ?
Rome 11:32 For God has bound everyone over to disobedience so that he may have mercy on them all.
NOW BACK TO THE CHURCH ....
The church is a combination of God,( Christ head Col. 1; 18 )
and sinners..
1 Timothy 1:6-11New International Version (NIV)
6 Some have departed from these and have turned to meaningless talk. 7 They want to be teachers of the law, but they do not know what they are talking about or what they so confidently affirm.
8 We know that the law is good if one uses it properly. 9 We also know that the law is made not for the righteous but for lawbreakers and rebels, the ungodly and sinful, the unholy and irreligious, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers, 10 for the sexually immoral, for those practicing homosexuality, for slave traders and liars and perjurers—and for whatever else is contrary to the sound doctrine 11 that conforms to the gospel concerning the glory of the blessed God, which he entrusted to me.
1 Timothy 1:19-20New International Version (NIV)
19 holding on to faith and a good conscience, which some have rejected and so have suffered shipwreck with regard to the faith. 20 Among them are Hymenaeus and Alexander, whom I have handed over to Satan to be taught not to blaspheme.
Peter denied Jesus three times.. ( his a liar a sinner )
Judas, one of the 12 apostles, betrayed Jesus..
Even in the old testament, God chosen Great kings commits grave sin.
DAVID --2 Samuel 11:2-4New International Version (NIV)
2 One evening David got up from his bed and walked around on the roof of the palace. From the roof he saw a woman bathing. The woman was very beautiful, 3 and David sent someone to find out about her. The man said, “She is Bathsheba, the daughter of Eliam and the wife of Uriah the Hittite.” 4 Then David sent messengers to get her. She came to him, and he slept with her. (Now she was purifying herself from her monthly uncleanness.) Then she went back home.
David himself planed Uriah's death. 2 Sam.11:14-15 14 In the morning David wrote a letter to Joab and sent it with Uriah. 15 In it he wrote, “Put Uriah out in front where the fighting is fiercest. Then withdraw from him so he will be struck down and die.”
But still God choices SOLOMON to become Great King and God's servant, the son of David from Bathsheba.
SOLOMON- apart from being God's chosen, and was given great wisdom, Solomon still sins.
1 King 11:1-10 Solomon’s Wives
11 King Solomon, however, loved many foreign women besides Pharaoh’s daughter—Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Sidonians and Hittites. 2 They were from nations about which the Lord had told the Israelites, “You must not intermarry with them, because they will surely turn your hearts after their gods.” Nevertheless, Solomon held fast to them in love. 3 He had seven hundred wives of royal birth and three hundred concubines, and his wives led him astray. 4 As Solomon grew old, his wives turned his heart after other gods, and his heart was not fully devoted to the Lord his God, as the heart of David his father had been. 5 He followed Ashtoreth the goddess of the Sidonians, and Molek the detestable god of the Ammonites. 6 So Solomon did evil in the eyes of the Lord; he did not follow the Lord completely, as David his father had done.
7 On a hill east of Jerusalem, Solomon built a high place for Chemosh the detestable god of Moab, and for Molek the detestable god of the Ammonites. 8 He did the same for all his foreign wives, who burned incense and offered sacrifices to their gods.
9 The Lord became angry with Solomon because his heart had turned away from the Lord, the God of Israel, who had appeared to him twice. 10 Although he had forbidden Solomon to follow other gods, Solomon did not keep the Lord’s command.
And this prove that God's plan is perfect, and that the church is perfect in having sinners to be save... that some will sin, and contentiously seeking, asking God's mercy, while others also keep on going, doing the work of mercy, praying to stand against temptation, asking the help of the holy Spirit to survive tell end.
