Before God put his curse to the serpent, does serpent has feet ?

MY ANSWER ...  

In learning the word of God, ( bible ) we should observe proper guidance ( apart from the guidance of holy Spirit , this will happen only in isolated case, as one of those who were chosen ).

For there were so many disciples, but not all disciples are apostles. ( distinguishing the difference between disciple and apostle. )  

we, may considered as disciple of Christ, but far enough to compare the apostles. (as they were chosen ) 

Like Paul as one of the example, Gal. 1:  ¹¹ I want you to know, brothers and sisters, that the gospel I preached is not of human origin. ¹² I did not receive it from any man, nor was I taught it; rather, I received it by revelation from Jesus Christ.

Acts 9: ¹⁵ But the Lord said to Ananias, “Go! This man is my chosen instrument to proclaim my name to the Gentiles and their kings and to the people of Israel
 That is how they were chosen. Romans 8: ²⁸ And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. ²⁹ For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.

In the other hand, Timothy is also one of the good example of a preacher and a disciple.But he's not an apostle.
1 Tim. 4: ¹³ Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to exhortation, to teaching.

2 Tim. 2:¹⁵ Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.

In my case or in our case, we belong to this Timothy's system of learning and perhaps of evangelize. 

Going back to the question, " Before God put his curse to the serpent, does serpent has feet ? "
As I said proper guidance must be observe in learning the words of God ( bible ). One of this is the HERMENUITICS OF THE BIBLE . Sometimes we ought to know the tradition, culture and history of the Jewish people before to understand fully Jesus teaching, in his present time. There were so many things to reconsider, as will as knowing several IDIOMATIC EXPRESSION .

In Gen, 1:14 God did not told the serpent, " that starting today you will lost your feet and start to crawl " as his punishment. It is  pertinent to a father  cursing his son saying " starting today, consider yourself not my son, and you will crawl to hardship in all your life. Likewise one will say, "now I saw, and believe that he can stand in his own feet. This is only an  idiomatic expression. It does mean that his son loses his feet for him to crawl.Nor a man before does not stand with his feet.

Things that we should consider, when God punish ( curse ) the serpent, to Adam and Eve, he did the same.

Gen. 3;19 By the sweat of your brow you will eat your food until you return to the ground, since from it you were taken; for dust you are and to dust you will return.”

Now people need to farm, exert effort in order to live. Unlike before, Gen. 2: ¹⁶ And the Lord God commanded the man, “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; ¹⁷ but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die.”

Both serpent and man was punish, and they were both exerting hard effort ( crawl ) for living. as you see God said that serpent would eat dust, ( all living creature / for animals also return to dust ). Now serpent are careful enough in crawling to catch his prey. And even fighting to death with it's pray, for it's living.

Although bible did not have a proper detail of what serpent eat before ? Maybe before it also  eat fruits like bird, (  just a presumption ) but it tells us, that what is serpent now? Is not what that serpent before.
